Evening speaker Eliza McClelland, “To Bead Or Not To Bead”. A talk about beadwork on canvas. It includes information about the sources of Eliza’s designs, and theatrical anecdotes about how she came to visit them.
Saturday 17th October
Workshop with Eliza McClelland, “Glamorous Beadwork”. Make a canvas sampler that incorporates the principals of shading and colour, and various bead stitches that create delicious scrunchy effects.

Workshop with Fay Maxwell, “Crewel and Unusual”. Introducing new fabrics and threads, together with up to date easily worked designs.

Evening speaker Margaret Heath, “Taking a Ground of Calico”. Margaret will show us some of the ways that she has used calico in her pieces: paint, layering, stitching embellishments. Examples will be brought to see.

Two day workshop with Angie Hughes, “Textural Bookwraps”. Having printed text and letters onto strips, you then create a “woven” surface. This will then be further embellished.
