Paper, Metal and Stitch

Embroidered Rustic Rooster (All Levels)

Saturday September 17th – Workshop with Jan Connett (Beginners/Intermediate)

A workshop using design ideas to create a moody landscape. From photographs to a final textile piece Jan will demonstrate and teach how to work with a design process to create a fabric collage using simple stitch techniques.

Drawing out the collection

Julia will talk about the way she references museum collections both in the UK and Europe and how these influences form the basis of her work in metal and fabric. Her website can be viewed at www.juliagriffithsjones.co.uk.

Saturday May 21st – Workshop with Mary Sleigh – African Inspirations

Participants will produce a sample of work in fabric and stitch based on Mary’s collection of African textiles and beadwork, This is mainly a hand sewing workshop but a sewing machine can be used if preferred. The workshop will suit all levels of experience.
